Results
The cooperation partners Gedenkstätte Bautzner Straße Dresden (through their sponsoring association "Erkenntnis durch Erinnerung e.V."), Collegium Bohemicum (Ústí nad Labem) and Post Bellum (Prague) designed and published the poster exhibition "Courage in the Dictatorship" and the online portal www.iron -curtain.net in the three languages Czech, German and English. The exhibition presents the nominees for the "Memory of Nations" prize, which was awarded by Post Bellum in Prague on 17 November 2019. The focus of the exhibition and the portal are contemporary witnesses from the five countries Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. In order to be able to classify and appreciate their work in the historical context, the eyewitness reports are accompanied by short country portraits. Starting from the end of the First World War, the way into the division of Europe through the "Iron Curtain" shall be made traceable through 1990 along key events. The exhibition and the online portal convey that history is influenced by acting individuals and does not end at the national borders, but is at the same time a common European history.
